CURRENT POSITION:
Amanda Tacchia Cherubini holds a teaching contract for the Laboratory of Artistic and Cultural Design, Production and Communication (co-holder of the Exhibition Registrar module) within the Master’s Degree Programme in Art, Valorisation and the Art Market at IULM University of Milan.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Heritage from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where she completed a thesis in the archaeological field focusing on the Horti Sallustiani, addressing issues of re-evaluation, conservation and public use of the site. She subsequently obtained a Master’s Degree in Art History, further specialising in the study of cultural heritage protection, conservation and valorisation, as well as a Master’s Degree in Artworks Registrar, with specific training in collection management, artworks handling and transport, documentation, exhibition organisation and regulatory frameworks.
She specialised in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage in Veneto, obtaining the professional qualifications required for recognition as a Cultural Heritage Restoration Technician, and is officially registered in the relevant lists of the Italian Ministry of Culture, in compliance with current legislation.
For over twenty-five years, she has been active at the Horti Sallustiani archaeological complex, where she works as an Exhibition Registrar and coordinator for the competent Superintendence, dealing with collection management, artworks handling and movement, documentation processes, and support for cultural valorisation initiatives and art event management.
She has developed specific expertise in the handling and logistics of artworks through her professional experience at the Palazzo Spinelli Institute in Florence.
She is currently Exhibition Registrar and curator at Artantide Contemporary Art Gallery in Verona. She has served as Exhibition Registrar and curator for the Cameroon Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (editions 2022, 2024 and 2026), and has also worked as Exhibition Registrar for Gagosian Contemporary Art Gallery in Rome.
In 2025, she worked in Qatar as a consultant at the National Museum of Qatar (Doha), collaborating on projects related to the conservation, management and protection of museum collections. In the same year, she also operated as a cultural heritage conservator, undertaking specialised assignments in the field of historical and artistic heritage conservation.
For several years, she has been engaged in consultancy activities for the conservation and restoration of both old master paintings and contemporary artworks, operating through her own laboratory facilities based between Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
AREAS OF SCIENTIFIC INTEREST
In the field of study and research on the problems of restoration of contemporary works of art, a field that is still little analyzed as it highlights difficulties beyond the traditional approach of conservation of ancient works of art. With a view to deepening knowledge of the tools, techniques and materials of contemporary art that are constantly evolving
The areas of greatest scientific interest are also concerned with an in-depth study of the complicated relationship between artist, restorer and the curator, furthermore in the area of methodological and scientific problems, the issues concern the specific function of the figure of the restorer in synergy with the activity of the artist himself.
